Level 1

Visual Motor Integration

This involves the effective and efficient communication between the eyes and the hands, so that you are able to copy, draw or write what you see.

Children who struggle to integrate or coordinate their visual and motor systems may struggle with handwriting because visual perceptual skills – the ability to correctly perceive a form in order to correctly replicate it – are involved in correctly perceiving and copying shapes, numbers and letters.

Completing the exercises below will help your child/pupil improve in this area.

Connecting the Dots

In these exercises, you are required to memorise the pattern and then copy it on to a new grid.

Odd Pairs

In this exercise, you are required to create an outfit, car or tree using one part on the left column and another from the top row. Cutting out or drawing the objects will help improve your child/pupil's visual motor integration and their ability to cross reference information.

Match Up

In this exercise, you are required to create a new shape using a shape from the left column and another from the top row. Drawing the new shapes will help improve your child/pupil's visual motor integration and their ability to cross reference information.

Shape Jungle

In these exercises, you are required to work out which order the shapes have been used to make up the pattern.

Half Pictures

In these exercises, you have to complete the picture.
